FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
Friends of the Bessemer Public Library is a non-profit organization whose goal is to assist the Bessemer Public Library in reaching its full educational, recreational, and cultural potential for your enjoyment. Originally created in 1984, the Friends recently reorganized and is raising funds to support the library by buying items that are beyond the library budget. You can help support the library by visiting the Friend's Bookstore. The bookstore is located on the main floor of the library. All proceeds from bookstore sales support the library. We are always open for your convenience. Look for directions on the signs in the library foyer. Please come by the bookstore and take a look! The Friends Bookstore offers a wide selection of both hardback and paperback books, audio books, and videos. Paperback books sell for 50 cents, softback books sell for $1.00, hardback books sell for $2.00, magazines sell for 25 cents, and audio CDs and DVDs sell for $2.00.
The bookstore relies on your donated books, DVDs, videos, and audio books to keep our shelves filled and tax receipts are available. Please consider becoming a member of Friends of the Library. Dues are $10.00 per year for an individual and $20.00 per year for a family.
